Birth Doula Services
Free Consultation
Whether it be in person or virtual visits, I love a good chat! Feel free to contact me anytime to arrange a consultation. No pressure, just laughing, chatting, and enjoying a nice cup of something. I'm always excited to meet new people and help them on their journey to parenthood.
Phone, Virtual & Email Support
For those questions and concerns that do not require an in person visit, I can still offer support via phone, zoom, or email. I'm available to listen, offer suggestions, encouragement, and answer any questions you may have.
2 Prenatal Visits
As your doula I typically offer two prenatal visits to help you develop a "game plan" for your upcoming birth. During these visits we go over birth plans, routes to and from the place you will be birthing, supplies needed for you, baby, and birth team, answer any questions you and your partner have, help in meal prep, practice comfort measures, and make sure everyone is aware of the plan. We spend time focusing on education, protocol, how we can help everyone have the most positive experience we can. We visit until you feel preapred and ready for baby!

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks
I will never do vaginal checks, blood pressure checks, any kind of monitoring, or tell you what to do. I am not your medical doctor and I do not ever step into that role. My job is to provide emotional, mental, and physical support only. I can explain procedures and breakdown the hospital and medical jargon for you.
During labor
I stay with you throughout your entire labor and provide support to you and your partner. I suggest comfort measures, make sure everyone stays comfortable, hydrated, and relaxed. Its my job to help you and your team remember the goal of your birth plan and offer suggestions and encouragement along the way.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I will never speak for you. I may suggest to you or your partner that we review the birth plan. I may suggest to you or your partner that we try something new. I may even suggest to you or your partner that we take a time out to regroup. My goal is help you find your voice and have the courage to use it. I will always provide evidence based information so you are prepared to make decisions the best serve you.
Baby’s first feeding Support
Baby is born and they are ready to nurse...perfect!
I'm excited to help mom and baby get off to the best start with breastfeeding. After the birth I stay with the family to make sure that the first latch is successful. I offer positioning suggestions, latch assessment, to help mom have a comfortable experience.
Postpartum follow-up visit
I offer one-two postpartum 2-3 days after the birth of your baby. This gives us the opportunity to process your experience, answer any questions you may have, and help you settle into your new role as parents.
"Amanda was a godsend for my pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum experience. She kept me calm and focused, helped my husband be comfortable and when baby arrived she helped her nurse like a champ. I will never birth without Amandas support again.
Shes family now."- Erica
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
Your body, your birth, your baby, and your experience.
It is not my job to influence your feelings. It is my job to make sure you and your partner feel comfortable, supported, have a clear idea of your wishes, and help you achieve your goals. My only belief is that you deserve both a healthy baby and healthy experience.
